The Board of Directors of COMHAR, Inc. (“COMHAR”) is pleased to announce that William P. Parfitt has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of COMHAR and its affiliates, effective May 1, 2013.

Welcome to the Spring Issue of the HOPE Times. This is certainly a challenging time with the looming budget cuts in Behavioral Health and IDS services in the foreground. The members and staff of HOPE have been advocating in behalf of these very much needed services which are not only a crucial safety net for many, but also a vital support helping to propel many participants forward with their recovery.

COMHAR Rolls Out the Red Carpet for 2012’s Annual Consumer Spring Dance

It’s Spring and COMHAR is rolling out the red carpet for its adult consumers and their families. Every spring staff and volunteers and members of the Consumer Services Panel sponsor a themed dinner dance for the individuals in COMHAR’s day and residential programs. Attendance in past years has been 200 to over 250.

Welcome to the HOPE Times Winter 2012 Issue. This newsletter is filled with many celebrations that include participants in the HOPE program and other COMHAR programs.  We start our editorial with the MLK Day of service, which was celebrated with members and staff of the HOPE program participating in a community project. Brenda Rogers, CPS shares about the experiences of individuals who helped to make a difference in the community of 17th and Lehigh Ave. where they helped to make their mark in the neighborhood through community service.

COMHAR Becomes A Part of Northampton County Developing Two Programs For Adults

In December, COMHAR opened an eight person long-term structured residence (LTSR) and a three person specialized supportive housing program in Northampton County.

The programs were developed to support former Allentown State Hospital residents who will be re-integrated into the community. COMHAR has over 12 years experience with this type of program.
