Facilities Technician Salary:
$36,920.00 ($17.75/HR)
Facilities Technician Shift:
Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:00PM (Rotating on-calling shifts)

Facilities Technician Summary:
The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing residential homes and office buildings within a designated area. The Facilities Technician will operate a company provided vehicle and utilize company tools to perform various maintenance tasks. This role includes participation in a rotating emergency 24-hour on-call service and receiving work requests via Maintenance Connection on a tablet.
Facilities Technician Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on residential homes and office buildings, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building systems.
- Diagnose issues and determine the best course of action to resolve them efficiently.
- Work Order Management:
- Receive and manage work requests via Maintenance Connection on a tablet, ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Update the status of work orders jn the system and provide detailed reports of completed tasks.
Emergency On-Call Service:
- Participate in a rotating 24-hour on-call service to respond to emergency maintenance requests
- Quickly assess and address urgent issues to minimize disruption to residents and office staff.
- Rotating Work Schedule:
- Work on a rotating schedule to provide coverage and ensure continuous maintenance support.
- Collaborate with other technicians to coordinate schedules and share responsibilities.
- Vehicle and Tool Management:
- Maintain a company-provided vehicle, ensuring it is clean, stocked with necessary tools, and in good working condition.
- Properly care for and secure company tools, ensuring they are used safely and responsibly.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for oneself and others.
- Comply with company policies and local building codes in all maintenance and repair activities.
Preventive Maintenance:
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and efficiency of building systems and equipment.
- Identify potential issues before they become major problems.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other maintenance technicians, contractors, and the Facilities Manager to coordinate activities and share information.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
Professional Development:
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Participate in training programs and obtain relevant certifications as required.
Work Environment:
- The technician will work in a variety of settings, including residential homes and office buildings.
- Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
- Occasional work in confined spaces and at heights.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry a minimal of 75 pounds.
- Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and at heights.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 4 years maintenance experience required.
- Technical school or trade certifications preferred.
- Maintenance experience must include basic plumbing, electrical work, drywall, painting & carpentry.
- Relevant trade certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing) are a plus.
- Valid driver’s license.
- On-call cell phone coverage required.
- Responsible for maintenance needs in the Philadelphia, Montgomery and Northampton County Areas.
- May be asked to do additional projects within COMHAR Maintenance Department.
